Baek was born in 1986 in a small town in South Korea. Growing up on a high hill, he spent his childhood watching the setting sun, the shifting sky, and the quiet changes in the surrounding landscape. Although he did not major in art, he has continued to study and paint steadily while working in architectural design since 2016. He draws inspiration from many things around him, yet he is especially drawn to simplicity. He continues to pursue various studies, and carries a long-term aspiration to travel the world with a palette in hand, painting as he goes.
